Sunday lunch with a twist

As one of the Evening Standard’s 1000 most influential Londoners of 2011, Kerstin Rodgers – aka food blogger and underground restaurant pioneer Ms Marmite Lover - is used to creating a bit of a stir. Which should come in pretty handy when she serves her ´Compleat Menu’ at Blacks Club on Sunday 26th June.

The hostess with the mostess is the latest in a group of illustrious foodies, Rose Prince, Tom Parker Bowles and Bill Knott included, who have spent the last few months helping Blacks’ owner Giuseppe Mascoli rebrand the traditional Sunday lunch.

Having opened her own restaurant - in her Kilburn living room - Kerstin now brings her culinary skills to the kitchens of one of Soho’s finest Georgian townhouses. And what could be a more fitting setting for an 18th century menu, devised in conjunction with renowned historian Lucy Inglis?

On the Compleat Menu will be such authentic fare as Vegetable Fritters (young gentlemen of the period were rather partial to cooking these on their fireplaces), Stargazy Pie with Hot Water Crust and Meringue with Salted Caramel and Black Pepper Strawberries

Tickets are priced at £35 (excluding wine). To make a booking, call 020 7734 5399 or email moira@blacksclub.com

We’ll see you there…
